# List and text operations

Most flows spend a few steps getting data into the right shape. These nodes do that work, and none of them need a credential.

## Lists

* **Create List** merges anything you give it, single values or other lists, into one flat list.
* **Manual List** is a list you type out yourself, useful for a short fixed set of values or for testing.
* **Filter** keeps only the items matching a condition you set. It can keep other lists in step with the one being filtered, so add those under **Associated columns** and the rows stay matched up.
* **Slice List** takes a single item or a range out of a list, counting from 1.
* **Lookup** reorders one list to line up with another by matching keys, the way VLOOKUP does in a spreadsheet. Use it before writing two datasets out side by side.
* **List to Text** joins a list into one piece of text with a separator you choose.
* **Create Markdown Table** turns several lists into a table, which is usually what you want just before emailing or exporting a result.

## Text

* **Create Text** writes a piece of text that can include values from earlier nodes, which is the usual way to build a prompt or an email body.
* **Join Text** combines several texts into one.
* **Text To List** splits text into a list, on new lines, commas, or whatever character you pick. It can also repeat a value to match the length of another list, so a constant lines up with a column.
* **Markdown to HTML** and **HTML to Markdown** convert between the two, for sending formatted email or cleaning up scraped pages.
* **URL to Domain** reduces a full web address to just the domain.
