Capabilities are built-in abilities you switch on for an agent, in the editor or per conversation from the chat composer. They add to what an agent can do beyond answering questions, and you enable only the ones a job needs. Out of the box, an agent can search the web for current information and read a page you link to, remember your past chats so it carries context forward, and schedule its own recurring runs when you ask. Turn each one on or off per agent, and change it whenever you like. See Scheduled tasks for more on those recurring runs.

Go further with the workspace

Turn on Workspace Access and an agent can do almost anything. It connects to your organization’s persistent workspace, so it is no longer limited to a fixed list of abilities. It can build and hand you files, run code, use every skill you install, work from what your team has taught it, and carry open-ended tasks through to the end. This is where an agent goes from answering questions to actually getting work done. See Persistent Workspace.
